Handmade Blacksmithing Tools

At Water Oak Forge, we believe tools should be built to work hard, last a lifetime, and help craftsmen create their best work.

Every tool is hand forged in our one-person blacksmith shop in Upstate South Carolina by a blacksmith with more than a decade of experience teaching, forging, and making tools for blacksmiths, bladesmiths, metal artists, and makers.

Over the past ten years, our tools have been used by hundreds of students, shipped around the world, and put to work in professional shops, hobby forges, schools, and studios.

We take pride in offering tools that provide exceptional value while maintaining the durability and performance serious craftsmen expect.

Tools for Blacksmiths and Bladesmiths

At Water Oak Forge, we often say that we make art that makes art.

Our focus has always been on creating tools that help other craftsmen build, create, and forge with confidence. From punches and drifts to fullers, chisels, and specialized tooling, every tool is designed with practical shop use in mind and built by someone who uses them regularly in a working forge.

Punches are used to create holes in hot steel. The shape of the punch determines the shape of the hole.

Drifts are used to shape, size, and refine holes after they have been punched.

Whether you're forging decorative ironwork, creating hammer eyes, making tongs, or building custom tooling for your shop, our tools are designed to help you work efficiently and consistently.

Why Buy Handmade Blacksmithing Tools?

In a world filled with mass-produced tools, we believe there is still value in tools made by hand.

Many blacksmithing tools available today are imported or produced in large runs with little transparency about materials or manufacturing. At Water Oak Forge, every tool is forged one at a time by a working blacksmith who understands shop demands because these are the same tools used in daily work.

Water Oak Forge began as a small garage shop and has grown into a trusted source for blacksmithing tools used by hobbyists, professional smiths, schools, and makers around the world.

We remain a one-person operation focused on quality over quantity. Every punch, drift, fuller, and chisel is forged, finished, and inspected individually.

Because each tool is made by hand, lead times are longer than mass-produced alternatives. We believe the tradeoff is worth it—better tools, better performance, and tools built to last.
